Tarik Hameedi is a Los Angeles based Director of Photography. He was born in Alaska to a graphic designer and oceanographer, immersing him in the arts and sciences at a young age. He excelled at these subjects all throughout high school, and studied fine arts during college, graduating Summa Cum Laude.
After college, Tarik moved to Los Angeles and began working as a camera intern almost immediately, broadening his field of work. He quickly moved up the ranks of the camera department, becoming an A/B Camera Operator and Steadicam Operator, while moving into the Director of Photography position.
His commercial and feature work has taken him all over the globe, shooting documentaries in Antarctica, Tonga, and Africa to name a few places, and continuing to work on commercials and features domestically and internationally.
Most recently he was the Director of Photography on the Parts Unknown television show with Anthony Bourdain shooting 16mm film in Nigeria. He has also worked directly for Under Armour and Nixon, and has completed several other commercials, feature films, and music videos.
